thanks mike. The car gets past 4000 rpms easily, it just takes much longer than it should. It also doesnt seem to be smoking at all and it doesnt sound bad... it just takes forever to accelerate. I just had the air filter, plugs, oil filter, coolant, and engine oil replaced and it still seems to be slugish. It only has 70,000 miles on it and the previous owner (my dad) babied it. Still the only known problem with it is the exhaust... its really the only rusty thing on the car and it has partially rusted off.
