Exclamation Check out my new Rims!

Sup with the wide selection of dope rims that this forum shows on RX-7's i finally decided on a set, the Racing Hart CP-035's!!! In the Winning Gold color.

Count me as another satisfied customer of Rishie, AKA ARD T2 I suppose the 3 month wait was worth it, hehe.

They are
17x8.5 +40 plan on 245 rubber
17x9.5 +43 plan on 265 rubber

Here are the pix.
So here they are in the boxes:

Nice wheels! Please weigh them while they are loose. I bet they are quite light.

hey there Max Cooper, yup i weighed them as well. Remember me from a while back, i was asking your assistance on sort of how to buy rims, heh.

Well weighing them with a regular bath scale, which i also checked with some dumbells that weighed 15 & 20 lbs with me on the scale and then holding the weights/rims, they weighed:

17x8.5's were about 14 lbs
17x9.5's were about 15 lbs.

So they are not too shabby.

I'm currently trying to get my engine uninstalled and ported...so those rims won't be fitted for a while =(... Heh i'm also considering leaving the RX-7 for the RX-8, to be rid of all the inevitable problems the 7 will give in the coming years, ha.

Thanks.

Damn, that's LIGHT...the SSR Comps are 1-lb heavier each size 15 and 16 lbs, respectively!

No centercaps, straight race wheel. hehe. Congrats Edgardo. Japan is a bitch when ordering special wheels. They freakin' build them to order. Much different than the American philosophy where we like to prebuild and inventory parts.

Show us pics when they get mounted. I can't wait.

Thanks, Rishie

A few things:

(1) Those rims look sweet as hell.

(2) They are also light as hell.

(3) Your stock rims look nasty as hell.

(4) Selling an FD to buy an RX-8 would be stupid as hell, b/c they aren't even close to being similar cars.

Enjoy your wheels man, they're very sharp

@scmiata2000 Debated on whether to start a new thread or revive this one, feeling nostalgic going with thread revival!

Big thanks to @ARD T2 aka Rishie, somehow he got a hold of these rims over the summer 19 years ago, he's probably been waiting for me to relay feedback, fitment is excellent.

I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum, this was my college car in 1998. Shortly after getting the rims, engine tested low compression #s, i was just finishing school (no job!), replaced the engine, got married, then before i knew it 4 kids came along, and now I'm 42 dodging PTA meetings, shuttling everyone to swim practices in an SUV! Seems like it was just yesterday (really!). Car sat for ~ 15 years, starting it up every 3-5 years or so. I wanted to do the body work first, however the just replaced tires were over 20 years old at this point.

At the moment, besides the engine, like me, it seems everything has aged -- the odometer, tachometer -- busted. Wipers are much slower, Bose is down to 0 speakers working, did the paperclip click-click-start bypass, stock shocks/springs = jarring/rattling ride. Intermittent beeping / long beeeep after 'key on' just started this Saturday, ordered the 'FD01 CPU2' today. Oh well, after all these years, catching up and still find enjoyment in the RX-7! Forum seems to have died down a bunch, looks like still great people / knowledge around!

Wow what a story! It's crazy how life can come at you sometimes but it sounds to me like you've certainly made more than the most of it. Awesome wheels and even better FD testimony. It's amazing you held onto it all these years. When my FD started loosing compression, I didn't have the means to store or repair at the time so I reluctantly decided it was best to let it go. Luckily I've been able to get back into a rotary vehicle and relive some of that old fun. Best of luck with bringing it back up to date. Keep us posted!

Holy crap. We're living the same life. My FC has been in suspended animation since 2003 or so. It's awesome to have you chime back in. I actually moved away from the boards back in 2006 when Ryan sold it off. Maybe I'll come back. I hope to also enjoy my FC next year now that my kids are getting into double digits finally. hehe.
