hey there i was reading your Thread about you knowing about 12a. altenator wiring?I m wondering if you could tellme what i need to do to fix my ISSUE?I have a 1980 12a motor in a 79rx car.I just got abrand new 80 alt which has a built in regulator.but i have a 79 car which has the external regulator.SO i notice the plug on the old altenator(79) had four prong connector and the knew one has a two prong connector. So i put ends on the two wires and plug it in the new altenator.SO what i got now is it sarts up and my Tach is at 6000 rpm during idle the idiot lights stay on as long as its running and start blinking as your using your turn signals?DO i need those TWO wires from the the old Regulator plugged in to the new since the only major diffrence they have is 79 external 80 has built in reg..SORRY for such a long thread im mentally taxed on this ISSUE.THANKS for your time ..SCOTT MAC
