WA FD Harness Connector List with Part #'s

Well after nearly a month of working on this and probably 100 hours of research I think I have a pretty comprehensive list with part #'s that I have made up for the FD engine harness. It is based on a single harness conversion and the connectors that you would need but I have listed some other connectors that would be on a stock harness. I have done my best to verify that everything is correct so if you find anything that is wrong please let me know and I would be happy to correct it.

So here is my contribution to this great forum! I hope it helps everyone out!

1993-1995 Mazda RX7 Twin Turbo to Single Turbo Harness Conversion.

Color Code
Black = Part not yet located
Red = I currently have in stock and they have been verified correct
Blue = Currently ordered and waiting for arrival to verify if it is correct
Orange = Not ordered but believed to be the correct part but not yet verified
Pink = Notes that connector is used on other sensors

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. Glad to see it is going to help more then one person.

To answer the question about what vendor to buy them from. Well there is no one vendor that I found that has all of them in stock. I ended up having to buy the connectors from about 6 or 7 different vendors from across the globe. The other problem is that most vendors have a minimum per piece or minimum dollar amount that you have to order. So I ended up having to buy 10+ connectors or spend over $50 in most cases.

You could put the part number in google and it should lead you in the right direction. A few vendors that come to mind that I have had luck with are onlinecomponents.com and ttiinc.com Also for TE/AMP connectors, the TE/AMP website has a nice parts locator feature and will cross reference to other parts that are interchangeable with the part you are looking for as well. Its kinda hard to figure out how it works but when you do figure it out, it works real good.

Also you could pm me with what connector you need and I can see if I have it since I have a surplus of most of them now.

Great info in this thread. However I'm unclear on the listed ECU connector (4). While I don't have an FD, I'm using a FD AEM EMS and connector #2 has 6 upper and 6 lower pins rather than 8 lower pins as listed. Is this an error or am I missing something? I couldn't find the 12 pin AMP connector on the Mouser site so I'm out of ideas.

now if we could only get a picture of the actual connector right under the part number. Now that would be truly an act of god... hahaha

For those interested I made some updates and reformatted a bit. It starts with some pictures (we all know everyone likes pictures!), then lists the connectors individually (with pictures/wire colors from the FSM), then lists the connectors by manufacturer/part#.

Part # column is color coded:
Black - I have ordered the connector and verified correct
Red - I have not ordered, but kclements claims it is correct
Orange - I have not found a source to buy the connector, but think this is the part #
Blanks mean I haven't figured out the manufacturer/part #

The only blanks are the main solenoid connectors (which can be replaced by .250 spade terminals) and the IAC.

I haven't yet added the part #'s for terminals and wire seals, but will soon.

FD_Emissions_Harness.pdf

Let me know if anyone finds any errors, or has suggestions.
Also, I just picked a random free file uploader; if anyone can recommend a better one, or can host the file directly, let me know.

Did you ever get the connectors marked in blue and verify them?

In particular, I am interested in #22 because I have busted air pump connector.

Sourcing these connectors seems to fairly straightforward given the listed part numbers. The problem is that suppliers are not geared to the consumer market and have huge minimum order numbers (200 and above).

Download my pdf if you haven't already.
The airpump connector (on the harness, male pins) is Sumitomo 6195-0006; the connector on the airpump side (female pins) is Sumitomo 6195-0003.

The place I ended up buying those was from:
Eastern Beaver Sumitomo DL series
2P090WP-DL-M-S for the harness side, 2P090WP-DL-F-S for the airpump side
They shipped from Japan, took about a week IIRC.

Other places I have found small quantities of connectors/pins:
- Mouser and Online Components have decent selections of TE/AMP
- Eastern Beaver has the above Sumitomo and also Yazaki .250 connectors that replace the ACV and water level sensor
- New United Race Tech has some Sumitomo and TE/AMP; a lot of things are not in stock, but I found some things there that I couldn't find other places

The only things I couldn't find were a source for were:
- O2/knock sensor connector (I'm pretty sure I have the right part number, but couldn't find a place with stock in the US; everyone wanted a huge minimum order (>750) to special order them)
- Thermoswitch connector (I might have found the right connector, again couldn't find where to order one to check)
- IAC (never found a match)
- Emissions solenoid connectors (never found a good match; easy to replace with .250 spade terminals, so no big deal)

Awesome - thanks!

Have actually dealt with this company several times before for odd connectors. Pity the site does not quote the original manufacturer part number - it is hard to cross-reference your list with some of the connectors that are listed on the site. There are a few connectors listed that look like the transmission ones in your list but it is impossible to tell without the manufacturer part number. (I also have some melted - but functional - transmission connectors that I would also like to replace.)

Yes, their lack of original part numbers was annoying; part of why I ordered most things elsewhere. It looks like they do have all the trans connectors.
Their "2P090WP-DL-M-S" is Sumitomo 6195-0006, and their "2P090WP-DL-F-S" is Sumitomo 6195-0003.
It looks like their "2P Male Eco-S" is the TE/AMP 174354, and their "4P Male Eco-S" is the TE/AMP 174259.
Also their "4P090WP-DL-F-SPA-S" is Sumitomo 6195-0030 (TPS connector)
I think their "2P Female Eco-S" is TE/AMP 174352, which would replace a lot of the solenoid connectors (wastegate, pre-control, purge control, turbo control 2)

Hope that helps

Yup - I have the male and female connector set from Eastern Beaver (for an IAT extension harness that I want to build) and can verify that they are the correct connectors.
