It's possible with the 6266, but there are more variable at play than JUST the turbo.

On a healthy engine, with a good tune, enough fuel and ignition it will definitely make those figures;

Bump, I saw a LOT of precision turbos at the DGRR this year. Anybody that's installed them (6266, 6766) recently want to rate their performance vs expectations?

I love mine (6766 dual ball bearing). It spools quick enough for my taste, very responsive, and doesn't run out of breath on the top end (8500rpm) like my gt35r did. The only regret I have is not going with this turbo from the beginning and saving myself a lot of money and time.

What manifold are you using and when are you seeing "full" boost?

Has anybody gone 'all in' with a 6266 or 6766 yet? I'm talking like 25+ psi going borderline out of efficiency range...

TougeSpirit, full boost 16psi by 4,000rpm.

Once i upgrade my primaries injectors to 850 i plan on tunning for 22-23psi, the 6766 can be pushed to 30+ psi.

I plan on being up in the 26-27psi area when everything is said and done. I'd like to do it on water alone. But its a little down the road at the moment

Hey guys sorry to just jump in on the thread but I was just curious what was the difference performance wise on the pt6266 and the GEN2 pt6266? Is it like comparing the gt and gtx series meaning you don't notice the difference on the gtx unless you're running higher boost 20+ psi? Reason I ask is because I want to also run the pt6266 just not sure to go with the reg or gen 2?

Gen 2 will make more lower at same boost levels they claim. Say make as much as there 6466 but in a 6266 package.

So if I were planning on running 20 psi on both Turbos I'd see better results with the gen 2? Quicker spool and more power?

Gen 2 rated for 800ish vs the 720ish on the older ones. Goggle 6266 gen 2 and people have detailed pictures of the wheel changes and other stuff. Gen2 only comes bb though. Pick it up and let's see what 30psi gets

translated to rotary rwhp...

800/ 1.3 = 615

looks like it should make 80 pounds per minute if the estimate is correct.

given the Garrett GTX3582r which also sports a 21st century compressor wheel that is the same size plus or minus a hair makes 77 pounds tops or 580... i will be greatly impressed if 80 pounds are delivered.

this is not a knock on the turbo, just some clarification primarily as to Rotary HP versus Piston HP.

6466 is actually the Gen2 tech (before the unveiling of Gen2 options) which is probably why it showed so strongly vs the old 6266 and 6766. I really want a 6466.

I wonder is it possible to run a single turbo kit upgrading IC, rad, fuel, and ecu? Even if it's at very low boost. Possible?

Sure its possible. But it is HIGHLY likely that you will damage the motor.

Does anyone know if Precision (or anyone else) sells exhaust housing. A friend put a 6466 on his gf's car and with Runway Rivalry coming up and Precision not releasing the 6768 he went ahead and ordered another 6466 (v-band) just for the event and he would be willing to sell it to me. I'm going to assume whatever exhaust size he ordered (EVO) will be too small for an RX7. I was really impressed with the turbo and he gets better prices than I do so I may pick it up for a win win, but I have to know if I can order an exhaust housing for it. Also any advice on what size to get? Need something for ~25lbs or more. I saw SMG was running 1.15 on his 6766, but wasn't sure how it would compare. Thanks!

Figure a month at 35+lbs on his car will be a good workout to see if it's any good before I slap it on the 7.

I have tuned a 6266 made 402whp at 14psi on pump gas and conservative tune. That turbo all out will most likely be in the 550whp range in the high 20s . My personal FD made 644whp at 30 psi on a 6766 , With more to go which is coming soon .

im running 6266 on stock ports with a .84 hotside. I have never dyno'd it. At 12psi it feels no different than the twins did. Most I have boosted is around 18psi and it scoots. But power feels slightly restricted at 7000+ rpm. Might be my stock ports. Or my .84 hotside. Or Racing beat exhaust and rerouted wastegate. Or all of the above!

I am considering trying a 1.0 AR hotside to see if I gain some top end and if it lowers my EGTs a little.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for 400whp. What kind of mpg did that fd get? And how was the drivability/reliable was it?
